Electro-Acupuncture
Electro-Acupuncture
A procedure in which pulses of weak electrical current are sent through acupuncture needles into acupuncture points in the skin.

Electro-acupuncture is a technique where acupuncture needles are inserted into a specific muscle and then stimulated with electricity to intensify the acupuncture treatment. We attach electrode clips to the acupuncture needles to elicit a gently “tapping” sensation for 20-30 minutes. This technique blends the science of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Physiology to maximize the effectiveness of the treatment.
Electro-Acupuncture can be used in many different scenarios and in combination with other types of modalities. It is particularly effective for acute or chronic pain management.
Common conditions that electro-acupuncture can be beneficial for:
- Joint Sprains
- Muscle strains
- Adhesive Capsulitis (frozen shoulder)
- Plantar fasciitis
- Repetitive use injuries (tennis elbow, golfers elbow, Achilles tendonitis)
- Muscle spasms
- Post-surgical rehab
- Increasing joint range of motion
